Peak Antler Review + Giveaway (ended 10/6)
Today I am excited to share with you Ruckus the Eskie's FIRST GIVEAWAY! One lucky dog will receive ONE (1) antler bone, either a medium or large size courtesy of The Peak Antler Company.
I am a huge fan of antler bones as a chew toy. Antler chews are the best way for me to release my aggression. Which, of course, helps explain why I'm so low-key and mellow the majority of the time.
Giveaway ends 10/6/2013 9:00PM/12:00AM PDT/EDT. Please click through to get to the entry page.

PSA: How to use Social Media for Local Shelters
With social media, sapiens are connected instantaneously. This is incredible for being able to share information quickly and broadly. However, there can be times where having a social media account can get lost in the flurry of all other social chatter.

Fur-Deals: The Petango Store $20 off Online Order
My sapiens love deals on getting products for me (as well as themselves). This will be our first introduction to Fur-deals, for reals!
The Petango Store is offering $20 off an Online Order when you apply promo code SEPTSRV5 (all caps) at checkout. Shipping is $6.99 or is free if you spend $49+ after discount.I haven't shopped here before, but wanted to keep you all in the know! The minimum order must be $20 for the coupon code to apply. When I added an item to my cart, continued to checkout, and then entered the promo code, initially there was no indication that the coupon applied. After you've "applied" the coupon, click the big CheckOut button. Then, verify in the upper right-hand corner to make sure that $20 was taken off your order before completing your purchase!
UPDATE (09/2/2013 6:52 AM PDT): It seems like the coupon code disappears when you are submitting your payment information. I have emailed their customer service to see if the coupon is legitimate and will update here again.
UPDATE (09/24/2013 7:38AM PDT): I did place an order and it changed price to the non-discounted price after the order completed! I sent them emails to no response and the item shipped. I had to go through live chat and then make the phone call to finally get the discount credited back.

After my birthday dinner this weekend, my sapiens surprised me with this nice little dessert! I had just received a package from Ma Snax Superior Dog Treats and was secretly hoping that I would get to try it soon. Indeed I did ...for I was a "Good Dog" that day!

Black & White Sunday: Barkin' Birthday Bonanza at the Beach (B.W.S.B.B.B.B.)!
Plenty of action yesterday at Carmel By The Sea, California (that's the real name of the city!). I was pooped after running in and out of the tide. There were not many other canines or sapiens in the water yesterday, but it was still a very fun and exciting birthday get-together!
Butters the Frenchie also attended my birthday party, but he was too afraid to run into the water with me. I also met a mini-me named Hunter and saw a puppy Japanese Spitz! Unfortunately, we did not get to meet.

Dying Dogs in Advertising - Mercy (Friday the 13th Edition!)
Last week, I ran across a story about a huge backlash for an advertisement by Pearl Izumi and thought this topic is suitable for Friday the 13th. On my walks, I have seen Pearl Izumi gear on trail-runners and cyclists. But, I have never encountered a situation like the one depicted below!

An Eskie's Yelp:
Birchbox + Ann Taylor Shopping Event (Palo Alto, CA)
Welcome to the last day of Fashion Week! Well, technically my sapiens and I are celebrating from the West Coast given that Fashion Week takes place in New York City, USA. This intense and exciting New York Fashion Week (NYFW) event started on September 5th and ends on September 12. From there it travels across the pond to London, Milan and finally makes its last stop in Paris.

In honor of Patriot Day (9/11)
Twelve years ago, our nation was shaken by the attack in New York City. Do you remember where you were?
In remembrance of all that we lost during that tragedy, please remember to love and cherish everyone around you. Time is very precious.

BRAND NEW RUCKUS THE ESKIE BANNER
Just take a look up above and you should something new! Got it? Brand New Logo! And just in time for my barkday next week too! While I was somewhat satisfied by the simplicity of my previous banner, there's nothing like a beautiful logo to spruce it up.

Black & White Sunday: Are you ready for some Football?
It's that time again. Time for Chicken Wings, Pizza, Beer and lots of yelling at the big screen! WELL--at least for the sapiens. For me, it will be maybe some chicken wing crumbs and zoomiez every time my sapiens' team scores a touchdown. Officially, the regular season of American Football kicked off this past Thursday, but Sunday is the big-ticket day!

Could You be the Next Mayor of Your City?
I recently came across an article commemorating the life of Bosco, the black Labrador mix. Bosco held the position of mayor for ten years in the village of Sunol, California (a little northeast of Fremont) until his passing in 1994. It got me thinking: maybe I should run for Mayor in my city. I have strong affiliations with the Re-pup-lican party! Would you vote for me?

Who's your Water Buddy?
Review of August BarkBox 2013: Item 4 of 5
Ruckus Report: Aussie Naturals Floatie "Dolphin"I received this creative water toy in my August 2013 BarkBox edition and wanted to share my thoughts on it. This is my first BarkBox, and the Aussie Naturals Floatie Dolphin was the one big toy that it came with.
PROS:
Aussie's Naturals mission is to create green and earth friendly pet toys and gear. They use jute, wool, cotton, coconut fiber, natural gum rubber and leather. Their products have been tested on their own dogs and with rescue groups in Georgia.
They carry products for both canines and felines! There are about 14 toys they have listed on their website just for us pups. The Aussie ones listed are: Aussie Floppies, Aussie Lobbie, and Aussie Wiggly. What fun names!
