September 2013 BarkBox Review (*Spoiler Alert!*)

This Thursday I am thankful for the early arrival of my second BarkBox!  I won my first contest over the summer to a 6-month subscription to BarkBox. Thank you Wrapp Corp & BarkBox!

I'm hungry!
Here's a sneak preview of the MEDIUM dog box:

1) OurPet's Company IQ Treat Ball: (3 inches in diameter)

This toy has a learning level of "brilliant". It is a treat dispensing ball for dogs that keeps us pup mentally stimulated and physically active. The ball itself is 3'' and easy to fill with treats (or even dog food!). This item has over 900 reviews on Amazon! There's also a 5" ball available for you larger pups out there!

Time for my IQ test! Do you think I passed with flying colors?

Current Price: $6.99 USD

2) Barkworthies Beef Tendon: (medium size)

This is an all natural Argentinian angus beef tendon that encourages healthy teeth and gums for us dogs. Made from free-range and grass fed cattle! Who else can say that they use a beef tendon as floss?!

Current Price: $10.60 USD

Addendum 9/19/13: Finished it in less than 10 minutes. Has minimal odor. My sapiens were hoping that it would last longer given I'm just an average chewer.

3) Etta Says! Crunchy Deer Chews: (7 inches in length)

This deer chew has a mixture of rawhide and deer meat combined. This is a highly digestible chew that is made from the American deer. Can't wait to get at it!

Current Price: $0.85 each with bulk purchase ($30.76 in pack of 36)

Addendum 9/20/13:  My sapiens had to use scissors to open the packaging. This treat lasted 2 only minutes. Basically a crunchy version of jerky stick.

4) Superior Farm Pet Provisions: Venison Ear Nik Knacks

Nik Knacks ears are 100% venison ears, chewy and tasty. I'm a huge fan of pig ears (as you all know by now)...so let's see how these measure up!

Current Price: $8.46 USD

5) Vetra Care Pet Liquid Bandage (2fl oz)

This liquid bandage would have been perfect for my recent post "Ouch! I'm Hurt!" on Mischief Monday. It is alcohol free--which means no-sting (and hopefully no tears). I'm hoping no dog has to use this but it's handy to add to our first aid kit.

Current Price: $7.99 USD

6) Wagatha's Tuscan Pizza Italian Herbs & Cheese Dog Treats (8 oz)

Wow! When my sapiens first opened the box, this was the first thing I smelled! I thought that we had ordered pizza. Very potent... so I'm hoping it will give me a taste of Italy!

Current Price: $5.99 USD

Grand Total Value: $40.88

Not bad for $19/box subscription.

If you are interested, you can also save $5 on your first box with my BarkBox referral link. or use the promo code RUCKUSESKIE

Overall, I'm not as impressed with this month's box. I like the idea of throwing in chews, however, not as exciting as last month's box. Perhaps it is the lack of variety. What do you think?

Woof,

Ruckus the Eskie

  1. Thanks so much for participating in TNT! You got some great things, but I understand what you are saying about the lack of variety. That liquid bandage looks like something that might be good to put in the brown dawgs first aid kit.

  7. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on the liquid bandage. It's near impossible to keep a bandage on Mr. N's feet.

    1. Why does Mr N need bandage on his feet?! Did he injure himself?
