Canines in Video Games

My male sapien plays video games, and he shared with my female sapien the article (excuse the language in the write-up) he read above, featuring this spectacular image. He said, "This dog has stopped terrorist helicopters. What has Ruckus done, lately?!"
Riley the German Shepherd stars in Activision's upcoming game--Call of Duty: Ghosts. Sure, he's a digitally mapped 3-D approximation of a real life military canine, but I can't helped but be impressed by his strength and determination. And that cool tactical backpack, as well!

Hmm...my backpack is not so tactical...
One of the biggest games of the year (sales of $1 billion USD over 3 days!), Grand Theft Auto V by Rockstar Games co-stars Chop the Rottweiler as one of the characters pets. I have met Chop as seen below, and his barks are quite infuriating! I anxiously stare at him as my sapien walks and plays fetch with Chop in the game!

Chop is so lifelike!
We've all seen canines acting and behaving in all sorts of movies and television shows. Here are some of my favorites for interacting with and interacting as canines in video games! These are in no particular order.
  1. Okami by Capcom
This game lets you play as a wolf (related to us pups!). This was originally released on the Playstation 2 and Nintendo Wii over 7 years ago. It was re-released as an HD-version in 2012.
  2. Nintendogs by Nintendo
Raise your own dogs (and cats) on your portable system! Released on the DS, this game allows you to take care of a virtual puppy and grow him/her into your buddy for life!
  3. Fallout Series by Bethesda
Like Call of Duty: Ghosts, this game features a canine as a companion. The breed of this companion varied over the different iterations of the game, but the name remained the same: Dogmeat. What an interesting name!
Maybe I'll skip running for Mayor and try starring in a video game role! Here's my portfolio shot!

Endless runner? Platformer? First-Person Shooter? Puzzle?

    1. Thanks Riley! Dogs will soon dominate the world (moreso than Pinky and the Brain)

  2. Ruckus wagging his tail is so cute! All that fluff. What brand is his backpack and do you like it?

  3. Grand Theft Auto V did not leave me with a good impression of Chop unfortunately. The advertisement was on the front page of our newspapers with Chop depicted as a vicious, snarling dog in one corner... and of course Chop has colouring like Donna...the last picture of the white dog is cute though :)

  4. Dpgs are EVERYWHERE! If you ask me, they need more super hero dogs in video games and comics. :) They definitely need a Smooshy.

  5. Yes, I am totally agreed with this article and I just want to say that this article is a very nice and very informative article. I will make sure to be reading your blog more. You made a good point but I can't help but wonder, what about the other side? Indian SMM Panel
