PSA: Scoop That Poop Campaign #ScoopThatPoop

Today we are joining the Scoop That Poop Campaign by reviewing The Easy Scoop A Poop device as another way to help sapiens SCOOP THAT POOP! #ScoopThatPoop

I'm a "Scooper Hero!", "Protecting the Planet One Poop at a Time" (did I put this on right?)
I received this little nifty device in the mail and thought the timing was perfect to share experience.

PROS:
  • Eco-Friendly: device is made out of recycled plastic and their bags are not only BIG but biodegradable!
  • Charitable: a portion of all sales donated to "no kill" shelters, rescue groups, and other non-profits
  • White Fluffy Dog Owners: well, to me this is a bonus because the Easy Scoop A Poop was inspired by their beloved Sammy! White fluffy dogs unite!
  • Protective: against warm waste and texture! (isn't this really the reason why we need this campaign?)
  • Compatibility: this scooper works with the standard bulk pet waste bags we buy. The official Scoop A Poop bags are cute though, with the instructions printed on them.
CONS:
Fur-Deals: The Petango Store $20 off Online Order
  • Not as convenient: although it's light to take on walks and comes with a clip for your leash, the dimensions are a bit bulky and it will swing around a lot during walks. It is best carried along with your other necessities in another carry-on.
  • Only one size for all: this may not be a good grip if your dog is a bigger size, Bigger size dog means bigger....well, you get the picture. For a medium-sized pup like me, it seemed just right though. Either way, the Scooper will still function because your sapien really just needs to have a small grasp in order for it to work. It's just more pleasant on the eye when the entire package gets covered with one clamp.
DESIGN:

Slim view with the finger pockets
The Open View

Instruction on back of the box step-by-step, and also on the POOP BAGS!
  1. Open Finger Pockets
  2. Insert Fingers & Thumbs into pockets

  5. Place Scooper with jaws open over pet waste
  6. Close Scooper jaw to capture waste in bag pocket
  7. Pull bag off of hand with pet waste contained in bag pocket
  8. Close bag & dispose in proper receptacle
Bag on and ready to scoop

Downward motion to capture

Don't be intimated, there are 8 steps listed but honestly it's quite self-explanatory.

Excuse me for a second, I need to take care of business

CURRENT PRICE: $13.95 USD
Additional bags (10 rolls x 10 count): $12.11 USD

Is this for you? No one likes stepping into doo-doo while at the park. If this device will help encourage pet owners to clean up, then great! If you are fine with the old-school method of bagging it up with your hand, then there's no need to carry this on your walks. What ends up being a plus for us is that sometimes my sapiens are not around to walk me and a poor standby newbie non-dog owner gets stuck to help scoop my mess. Now with this device, my sapiens don't feel so guilty leaving the newbie to do the "dirty work".

There is also a great infographic for the campaign on Sugar the Golden Retriever & Dogster.

    1. Yes, that 8 step is really not that hard. My sapiens figured it out without the instructions.

  15. With three of us on leashes we don't need anything additional to carry along on walks, but it would be ideal for cleaning up poop left behind by others. Mom is fine picking up our piles with just the bags. I have seen this before with Sugar, nice concept for anyone with poop phobia :)

    1. I agree, it's good for poop-phobia, otherwise it can end up being another device to lug around

  17. This is my first time stopping by and oh my, isn't Ruckus cute! I love all the fluff!

Anyway, I don't have any dogs, but I've dog sat before and the warmth of the poop was always what grossed me out the most for some reason!

  18. Excellent review, Ruckus! Sounds like a nifty device, and looks like it would help the humans who think it's gross to pick up poop.

  19. I don't mind cleaning up waste, but I do sometimes feel like I haven't got all of the poop. Maybe this could help.

  20. That was a great review! Have a great night.

  21. Thanks for the review! Like Jessica from YDWWYW, I'm not squeamish at all. Raw food diet poop also tends to be far less stinky, much smaller and less...squishy. Seems like extra work to use one of these but I could see someone like my mom requiring the use of one!
