Breed of the Week: Floppy Bear the Samoyed!

Woof, sapiens and canines! I would like you to introduce you to one of my PawPals, Floppy Bear the Samoyed in this week's Breed of the Week.

Look at that adorable smile! (photo link)

Floppy Bear currently lives in Los Angeles, CA, and is one of the most famous dogs I know! Please check him out here: Floppy Bear Fan Page and Floppy Bear. He has taken photos with two-time Olympic gold medalist Shaun White, and he competes in Samoyed Shows!

As one of the top breeds I get mistaken for (check out my FAQ), I would be honored to be mistaken for Floppy Bear! While we look quite the same with our white double-coats and our picture-perfect smiles, there are still a few subtle differences. Samoyeds retain more fuzzy fur around the ears, and their noses are a bit larger. In essence, they look more bear-like, hence Floppy Bear's namesake!

Our ancestry actually splits off even though we may look the same. My fellow Eskies come from Northern Europe, while Samoyed's originated from the Siberia area of Russia. It's like we were next door neighbors!

Here's my goofy smile!
Samoyeds (or Sammies for short), are a hearty breed. They originated as herding and sled dogs, but as pets here, I doubt they do much of that! They are very kind-tempered, friendly, and do especially well around sapien children. I've actually met quite a few Samoyeds through my travels in dog, but here is a video of me, a Samoyed, and a Keeshond at Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.

Samoyeds are quite fun to play with. They can get about two to three times bigger than me, so it is a little intimidating at first, but not even I could resist the irresistible Sammie Smile!

Any other Sammies lovers out there want to give a shout-out to all the Sammies in the world?

    1. I agree Cascadian Nomads! My buddy here has that extra charm that you cannot resist.

  4. They are cute fluffballs! Some people about half a mile from us have three of them. Every now and then they have puppies and we get to see them out in the yard when we are out walking. The three grown ones don't like other dogs and run the fence barking and growling at us, but we still love to go by and visit them with or without puppies. Nice post!

    1. Wow, 3 big sammies barking and growling? That sounds intense Emma!

  5. A typical dog feeder consists of a container or hopper that holds a certain amount of dry dog food and a mechanism for dispensing the food. The mechanism can be controlled by a timer, allowing you to program specific feeding times and portion sizes for your dog. Some dog feeders also come with additional features like portion control settings, voice recording capabilities, smartphone connectivity, or multiple compartments for different types of food. wood dog feeder
