Breed of the Week: The Obamas' new Puppy!

Hearing the news recently, you all probably know that our Commander-in-Chief and his family have a new puppy in the White House. With that in mind, I'm going to chat about the Portuguese Water Dog in my new segment: "Breed of the Week".

These are the beautiful dogs of the First Family of the USA. Sunny is on the left, and the new puppy, Bo is on the right. I have never met a Portuguese Water Dog in real life, but watching the video here, they look like a blast to run around with! They are companion dogs with mild temperaments, so it seems like we would get along fine.

I especially like Sunny's white forelegs and tuft on his chest. Their fur is poodle-like with all the hypoallergenic qualities and they do not shed at all! (JEALOUS!) Best of all, it looks like people have several different grooming styles for this breed.

I'm not sure what this cut's called, but do you all think I should try it out? Just need to trim a little off the rear, and do that fancy thing to the tail, and I should be all set! Let me know in the comments, and if you have a Portuguese Water Dog in the San Francisco Bay Area, we should meet!
