Review: Rockin' Green Doghouse Rock Pet Detergent @RockinGreenSoap

Today, let's talk about a product that can be used to help keep things clean for us canines. My sapiens are "germa-phobes" and I heard it took quite the convincing to even have a white pup as myself in the house! (No regrets now on their part of course!)

Anyhow, there's something called Doghouse Rock by Rockin' Green that I recently ran into that helps deodorizes pet odor and removes dirt and bacteria.

Detergents often leave some residuals behind that can be toxic to the canines' system. This product is "edible safe" for pets so when we chew on our toys and blankets, the sapiens can feel at ease.

PROS:

  • Biodegradable Surfactants
  • Phosphate Free
  • Enzyme Free
  • SLS Free

Each bag washes approximately 25 loads! The leading picture just shows a small selection of my washable toys. This does not include my towels and bedding. I clearly was able to fill up a whole laundry machine with all my beloveds and they came out smelling fresh and ODOR-FREE! What I was impressed about was that this detergent is HE compatible and works for all water-types.

CONS:
  • Missing a measuring tool:
    • The package mentioned to add 2 scoops of detergent along with the bedding but there was no tool to measure the amount. As you can tell above, my sapiens poured directly from the bag, which can be a bit messy.
Addendum 11/17/13: Received a clarification from Rockin' Green, 1 scoop= 1 tablespoon. Ruckus the Eskie appreciates the responsiveness from the team!

Current Price: $13.25

Company's website: http://rockingreensoap.com/

Rockin' Green also has other products tailored for different members in your family. Overall, I do enjoy the specific pet-detergent line.  Now if only someone would sell pet-dryer specific sheets! (Maybe those exist already?)

How do you launder your pets toys and bedding at home? Any tips on how to rid dog "cooties"?

Woof,

Ruckus the Eskie

  1. Hi Y'all!

Gee golly, two scoops, how big? My Humans use Arm and Hammer baking soda washing liquid to wash my stuff.

    Y'all come by now,

  2. I only use all natural, dye and fragrance free laundry detergents (cruelty free also). This product sounds like it could be even better though for washing the dogs' things. I've been wondering about the dryer sheets too.

    1. Ooo what brand is that Jan? I'd like to look into it. Sounds like it would be safe for my sapiens too.

    2. One I've tried is Seventh Generation and the other is called "planet". Both work good, but I think the planet is a little less expensive in the powdered form which I prefer.

  3. Cool stuff. I would wager you could always do the math and figure out from the net weight and the average number of loads per package you get what 'two scoops' are. But for those not willing to do the math I'd wager they are talking about tablespoons. As for the dryer, have you looked into wool dryer balls(I do't know where you buy them but I've seen tutorials on how to make them yourself)? No chemicals or dyes and 100% wool. They don't have a scent but I bet you could add essential oil scents if you like.

    1. Good thoughts Victoria! I will definitely look into the wool dryer balls. I have seen them on Pinterest and it's on my list of things to do!

  4. Had not even thought twice about the laundry detergent affecting the canines...Now we'll have to think hard about what ones we use.

  5. Hi everyone! Just a note that the "scoop" is a tablespoon. We are currently redesigning our packaging and have addressed that question. All Rockin' Green products are super clean rinsing with especially important for our furbabies since they chew on their toys and blankets. No potential toxic chemicals are left behind which could harm them :)
