Review: Primal Pet Foods Freeze-Dried Meals and Treats! @primalpet

What is all that deliciousness in my bowl you ask? That's the Primal Pet Foods I wanted to share on this Ruckus Report with you all.

Take a gander on this Tasty Tuesday:

1) Primal Jerky Chicken Nibs
Current Price: $12.99

PROS:

• Grain-free, gluten-free
• USDA Organic
• Ingredients listed: Organic Chicken, Organic Honey, Sea Salt
• I am a fan of simple ingredients with names I can pronounce!
• Good for both DOGS & CATS! 
• Always a plus when I can share with my feline friends
• Chicken raised in USA without antibiotics/added hormones

CONS:

• Needs to be refrigerated & served within 14 day
• This was written in pretty small print in the back. If something needs to be in the fridge after opening, it should be on the front of the bag as well. 
• Too small of a size:
• These are bite-sized which are good training tools for dogs. Since I'm a swallower and I am super excited during training sessions, my sapiens monitored me carefully while treating. (of course, this should be done with every new treat!)

2) Primal Dry Roasted Lung Crisps
Current Price: $5.75

PROS:

• Grain-free, gluten-free
• One Ingredient:
• Ingredients listed: Lamb Lung
• Love that it's just ONE ingredient!
• Lamb raised in USA without antibiotics/added hormones

CONS:

• Crumbles: 
• Not a huge gripe at all, but it does crumble a bit when eating. Make sure to avoid eating over carpet areas.

3) Primal Freeze-Dried Formula (For Dogs)

Current Price: $24.21

PROS:

• Appropriate ingredients for pets with food sensitivities
• Available in a variety of protein sources
• Helps maintain proper body weight and overall health
• Unique formulation for both canine and felines (canines in this case!)
• Easier than the raw diet approach
• Once hydrated, freshness last 3-5 days under refrigeration

CONS:

• Must REHYDRATE
• Whoops, shame on my sapiens. They gave me my first piece dehydrated and didn't read the instructions thoroughly. Make sure you add 1 tablespoon of water for every nugget. 
• Short-lasting:
• I weigh about 30lbs, which means that it each day I will require approximately 12 nuggets! Given that this bag is 14 oz, I can see myself going through it very quickly. (1 oz is approximately 4 nuggets, therefore this bag will last me 4-5 days)

Overall, I do enjoy the Primal Pet Foods line. I feel that I can trust their products given that most of them are organic and contain only a few listed ingredients.
