Spearmint Dental Chews to Rid Dog's Halitosis

Ruckus Report: Dental Chews by Bright Bites (BB)

I received a couple of these delicious chews as gifts for my homecoming party and wanted to write the first Ruckus Report!

PROS:
Bright Bites dental chews recently obtained the stamp of approval from the Veterinary Oral Health Council (VOHC). Their products claim that there is a reduction in both plaque and tartar, 21% and 65% respectively. They are 100% soluble and wheat/gluten free. All pluses in my book!

CONS:
There are food coloring added, so please keep that in mind before purchasing. The colors add the speckled hue to the treat, which creates an enticing appeal.

DESIGN:
These chews come in three different sizes (small, medium, and large dogs) and in three different flavors (peppermint, spearmint, and cinnamon).

We received two medium size spearmint daily dental chews for dogs 15 to 40 lbs. This fun star shape is aesthetically playful and, in my case, can cause some blind spots. The smell was very pleasant, and my sapiens mentioned it smelled like Christmas in summertime. I love getting dental chews before bedtime, and also after my brushing sessions. I work hard for my treats by putting on a show for my sapiens so I find them pretty rewarding. The flat and even bottoms of the star chews make it easy for me to keep balance unlike the other treats I've had. Nevertheless, I munched on them without any hesitation. Since the treats are highly digestible...let's just say they also came out the other end pretty easily.

PRICE:
Bright Bites does not sell these treats directly on their website. It appears you must have your sapiens purchase through all major retailers. A case of eight daily dental chews currently sells for approximately $10-12 USD online. Amazon also has them in 5 pound boxes (which have roughly 32 pieces) for $58.99 USD. This could rack up a good amount of your budget if given 1-2 daily per their recommendations!

  1. Thank you for the info, Ruckus. You might be right, between 1 German Shepherd and 3 Eskies, it might get expensive. BUT - they are worth it.
