Pizzle means WHAT now?!

Review of August BarkBox 2013: Item 2 of 5
Ruckus Report: Barkworthies Bully Flakes Food Topper

Have you ever felt a loss of appetite? Sick of the same old dog food with the same old taste? I certainly do at times. My August BarkBox came with something quite intriguing: Barkworthies Bully Flakes used as a food topper. This product is meant for the picky eaters and is used to help stimulate an appetite.

PROS:
Barkworthies Bully Flakes Food Topper are basically your typical bully sticks shredded for your own convenience. I have actually never had Bully Sticks before so I never knew what the ingredients contained!  This treat is actually very convenient since my sapiens like to feed me and rush off to work. So, they want to make sure that I can eat my morning meal. Sometimes my taste buds needs a little jump-kick on the appetite so it ends up being a fast way to stimulate it. The Bully Flakes here are grass-fed, free-range pizzle from FDA-approved Brazilian cattle. This topper is all natural and 100% digestible with no extra additive, chemicals, or preservatives---all of which sounds amazing to me!

CONS:
Usually I'm a huge fan of the one ingredient sort of product but this one is a bit of an exception for me and my sapiens.

Ingredient: 100% Beef Pizzle

What are beef pizzles? It sounded a bit questionable to my sapiens initially so they Google'd it. Apparently Pizzle means...get this...PENIS??? Wow, talk about euphemism. I suppose I am happy that at least the whole animal sacrificed is being used. Do you still have your appetite?

Pizzle?
Pizzles nowadays are mostly used for dog treats and even human treats. There have been studies (which I did not have time to indulge upon) that report benefits from consuming beef pizzle.

The funny part is, on the bottom of the bag it says "Not for Human Consumption". Oh trust me....my sapiens will not be touching this stuff! You should have seen their reactions when they found out. The bag was immediately flung across the room, away from the kitchen area. Nevertheless, they were willing to let me try it out after they went and did their research about it.

DESIGN:
These pizzles are kept in a 4oz durable zip-lock bag. Barkworthies carrry these in 4oz, 8oz, and 22oz. I am usually not a huge fan of 2-4oz treat bags because I can finish those pretty quickly, but since this is a topper, my sapiens are doing well stretching this for the long haul. I only get this special sprinkle when my cravings are low so it's not used much or often. Most days when I see or hear that food is being served, that Pavlov's effect has already kicked in.

PRICE:
On their website, they sell $31.50 for 6 packs of these 4oz bags. That is $5.25 per bag, which is not bad for how long it can last if you use it sparingly. You can also find them on Amazon in the Barkworthies Bully Flakes Dog Treat, 4-Ounce or Barkworthies Bully Flakes Dog Treat, 8-Ounce varieties.

Once you and your sapiens can get over the fact that these are made out of cow penises, these aren't have bad!

Now my question for you is:

Have you ever tried beef pizzle? If so, how did you like it? If not, would you ever consider making the purchase?
