Pros:
- Gluten-Free
- Dehydrated and long lasting
- 4 lbs dehydrated food makes 16 lbs of fresh food
- Higher protein and higher fat
- Natural human-grade dog food
- Safe for puppies, pregnancy, and nursing pups
Cons:
- Pricier than most dog food, however my sapiens try to make it last by sprinkling some of it into my kibble
- Requires more work - need to add water
- Strong odor- makes me drool, makes my sapiens run
- Requires cooling time if using hot water
Here's what Love looks like up-close and personal:
Overall, I am a huge fan of The Honest Kitchen. The big selling point for me is that they use HUMAN-GRADE DOG FOOD. That's amazing! The little addition and sprinkle of the dehydrated food really makes eating enjoyable. I am very addicted. When my sapiens prep the food, the smell drives me crazy. I run around impatiently as the food is cooling down!
Woof,
Ruckus the Eskie

This sounds like a great food for us to try! Thank you so much for the review Ruckus! xo Chloe and LadyBug
ReplyDeleteWe too like the fact that it is human grade food but we don't have it over here. Enjoy. Have a terrific Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Great review Ruckus. Looks like yummy stuff for sure!
ReplyDeleteDoes seem pretty pricey, but I am sure it worth every penny if it makes you run around like that! haha!

we have tried a couple of these types of food but don't find the rehydrate very well - even if you leave them half an hour - and yes - we love the smell but not the Mom :)
ReplyDeleteI never tried dehydrated food. But after reading your review I think it's worth a try. Many thanks, Ruckus
ReplyDeleteI prefer to sit in front of the counter and wait. Don't wanna take my eyes off the bowl in case someone comes and steals it!
ReplyDeleteSounds wonderfully stinky! Yum!
ReplyDeleteWe've never thought to try dehydrated, good to know that it works and that it's yum!
ReplyDeleteI've never had that type of food before, sounds interesting
ReplyDeleteMy dogs were fed Love by Honest Kitchen back a year or so ago, and loved it. Thinking about going back to it, actually. You are right tho, the worst part is them not understanding why they have to wait 5 minutes for it to rehydrate!
ReplyDeleteThat is great you only have to store 4 lbs of food instead of 16! Wonder review and certainly makes me interested!
ReplyDeleteLooks very interesting! Never tried any of their products but I'm curious to see how Niles would like it :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review. Sounds like something we might like as a treat and not our regular food.
ReplyDeleteNever knew there was such a thing as dehydrated food. Seems like that would be really great for road trips. Thank for the review!
ReplyDeleteGreat review-we absolutely LOVE Honest Kitchen and their products/food!
