Solvit Seat Cover and Travel Kit Review and Giveaway (ends 6/10/14)

Ruckus in the "smaller car" (CIVIC)

This weekend was both exciting and exhausting. We purchased our first new car together! We are ready to make our road trips--especially with Memorial Weekend around the corner.

Here's 2 items we received from Solvit that we would like to share with you. One lucky winner will win an item of their choice, courtesy of Solvit. Please enter via Rafflecopter below.

1) Solvit Sta-put Hammock Seat Cover

The timing couldn't be more perfect with the Solvit Sta-Put Waterproof Hammock. We have tried this seat cover in our old Honda Civic and we recently transferred it into the new car.  Lucky Ruckus gets to enjoy the new car smell!

PROS:
  • Waterproof
    • Protect from dirt, dander, spills (waterproof)
  • Easy to clean
    • Rinse or just shake off the dirt
    • Save you from vacuuming the backseat
    • Machine washable
  • 1 year warranty
    • Save your receipt in case!
CONS:
  • Weak barrier
    • Does not keep pets off the front console because Ruckus still manages to reach!
  • Non-versatile cover
    • Able to fit in many different cars, however the Civic is a bit smaller so therefore it tends to be a bit too loose. It will still do the job but it is not as effective as it would be in a mid-sized sedan

2) Solvit HomeAway Travel Organizer Kit

Dimensions:

Organizer Bag dims = 16 x 12 x 7 inches;
Food Bag dims = 4.5 x 4.5 x 12 inches;
Water Bottle dims = 3.25 x 3.25 x 9 inches;
Travel Bowl dims = 7.5 x 7.5 x 4.5 inches.
Total kit weighs 2.5 lbs.

PROS:
  • Convenient way to travel with your pet's essential
    • Contains 1L water bottle, 10-cup food storage bag, 2 collapsible travel bowls
  • Stylish organizer bag that is waterproof
    • Matches the car seat cover!
CONS:
  • Can be bulky and heavy when you pack all the necessities
  • Not as intuitive to secure the food bag

  2. the problem we have with this kind of cover - is to get in our car we have to jump on the floor first and then on the seat and you can't do that with the sling types and Mom isn't strong enough to pick us both up and put us on the seat.

  5. Could definitely use that seat cover, my cars covered in fur and the BF just bought a new car prime for getting messy!

  6. I hated the new car smell! We went on a road trip from New York to Boston right after getting the new car, and I jumped out at the rest stop to escape the smell! If I won, I would want the travel organizer to bring with my on doggie vacations!

  7. We had one of those to try to protect our seats. Terra kept going under it and managed to break it >.> No more seat cover now!

  8. This is a hard decision, but I would choose the seat cover. My mom doesn't have any yet and could really use one! :)

  9. I'd love the Solvit Sta-put Hammock Seat Cover to keep the fur off my car seats. I also need a seat protector that is water proof for accidents :) This would be wonderful to have!

  10. I would chose the travel organizer kit, as I already have a seat cover

  11. I would definitely love to have the seat cover because we use a sheet now. Bentley is a compulsive shedder!

  12. I would choose the seat cover, because I am a foster-dog mom and I transport a lot of dogs to and fro!

  13. I would choose the car seat cover because my dogs love car rides

  14. I'd love both items, but think I'd get more use from the travel organizer right now. I drive rescue transports and sometimes it's hard to keep everything I need together. It would really help me stay organized so I can focus on the dogs.

  15. I would choose the Hammock Seat Cover because I usually put my two pups in the passenger seat (where I have a seat cover), but now that they are getting bigger, I think they would enjoy more space in the back seats!

  16. The travel organizer. It'll keep things handy, and our dogs stay in the trunk. (no not a close trunk, a trunk where they can stick their heads up and you can see them)

  17. I'd especially like the organizer. I have a seat cover sort of like this except mine is not waterproof.

  18. I'd like the Solvit HomeAway Travel Organizer Kit because I already have something similar to the hammock and I will be travelling with my dog to another state so that she can get a bone marrow transplant and it would be a convenient way to store everything. It would also help out with all her trips to the vet right now for chemo treatments, not to mention traveling with the other dogs to appointments and playtime.

  19. I would choose the car seat cover because Artie and Kouga are both large, long-haired mix breed dogs. My cars seats would be forever grateful if I were to win.

  21. @missstellybean would pick the seat cover b/c it would be perfect and easy for clean for those muddy, wet after the park trips. She might also pick the travel kit b/c it's a great compact way to include everything needed to travel in comfort.

  22. I would love to win the seat cover because that would give my dog more freedom to move around in the car rather than being stuck on the floor since he sheds so much.

  23. I'm tempted to say the seat cover, but my car doesn't have headrests so I don't think it works. But the organizer sounds great too- especially for competition days or going to training.

  24. I would choose the travel organizer I have 3 rescue dogs and this looks wonderful to have when traveling.

  25. The seat cover would be great for transporting friend's dogs and rescue/fosters! I would choose that.
