Yes please!!!!! My sapiens recently attended a pig roasting party and came home with a special "doggy bag" for me! There were a lot of hot coals and ash at the event, so I stayed home to avoid injuring myself. That didn't stop me from having my own little pig-time!
No pigs were harmed in the taking of this photo |
When my sapiens returned, they toasted the leftover pig skins to make us some crunchy chicharrón (pork rinds). They were pre-seasoned on the pig with five-spice powder. If you've ever had roasted pork at a Chinese grocery store, you know the flavor! I have to admit, I drooled quite a bit because I had to share these delicacies with my sapiens. They ate almost as much as I did!
Baked for about an hour at 400° F |
I also benefited from the chewy pig ears that came from this sad little bugger. My sapiens attempted to limit my intake by cutting the ear into little strips, so I was able to appreciate them more. They didn't even eat any themselves! While I enjoyed them semi-fresh off the roasted pig, they tasted even better the second time around after they were frozen for about a day.
