Taking Care of Ruckus's Teeth after Days and Days of Feasting #BestofBLUE

This post is sponsored by Blue Buffalo™ and the BlogPaws® Pet Influencer Network™. I am being compensated for helping spread the word about Blue Buffalo’s extensive product offering for cats and dogs available at PetSmart®, but ruckustheeskie.com only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. What a fantastic Thanksgiving meal that we had together as a family. Ruckus was the centerpiece of the entire thing, and stayed in this pose the entire time as his uncles, aunts, grandparents, and so on fluttered around him. Note that the apple is pictured to scale, and just as big as Ruckus's nose!

Ruckus is Thankful this Holiday Season for the Bountiful Food #BestofBLUE

Ruckus is happy to be with so much family and extended family this holiday season. There's no better way of getting together than by sharing a meal. While scraps of brisket, turkey, and even cranberry sauce can be tasty in small morsels when handed down by his loved ones, Ruckus is always hankering for a full blown meal. Ruckus is hoping that if he eats enough of this ...that he will start looking like that tough wolf dog on that bag!

Try waking up to this in the morning! I think we'll all need our coffee soon, this Sunday!

After being surrounded by so many choices, we were able to pick up and try products from Nature's Recipe®, who are trying top help parents go natural on a budget.

Shopping at PetSmart for some treats #NaturesRecipe

Ruckus pointed out to this salmon snack as a must-try
Ruckus the Eskie recently partnered up with Nature's Recipe® in a campaign to drive awareness to their products as a step up in pet food nutrition without a steep step up in the costs and availability. Simple small changes in nutrition can make a huge difference in a dog's health. We wanted to reach out to Pet Parents to bring awareness and guidance to affordable options available out in the market. In fact, we made a trip to visit our local pet food store, PetSmart!

Fueling Up for Indoor and Outdoor Parks #AvoDermNatural

This post is sponsored by Avoderm and the BlogPaws Professional Pet Blogger Network. I am being compensated for helping spread the word about Avoderm Revolving Menu but ruckustheeskie.com only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. Avoderm is not responsible for the content of this article.

It's been a few more weeks since we started trying Avoderm®, and Ruckus is looking good and acclimated to this brand new food. Look how happy he for an after meal stroll in the park:

Ruckus is definitely an energetic dog and love his walks, even as the fall, and El Nino approaches. It's okay since California really needs the rain right now. Although, if you've ever had an American Eskimo during the rainy season, you'll definitely know it's not a walk in the park! Even when he goes into the backyard to relieve himself, he gets into a lot of trouble playing with the neighbor's dog beyond the fence. Cleaning those paws, with the long white fur that grows between them, with our carpet being as white as our pup...is definitely no fun!

That's why it's great to have the AvoDerm Revolving menu to help him calm down and eat in a set area away from our carpet. To recap, the menu provides the following:
  • Help minimize the risk of food sensitivities by varying proteins
  • Switch proteins with stomach/digestive upset (duck today, lamb tomorrow!)
  • Grain Free, Gluten Free
  • A limited ingredient list to help further minimize sensitivities
  • No white potatoes or fillers
  • Available in smaller sized kibble for little dogs as well!
It seems to be avocado season here in California as well. We've gotten quite a bunch from the local grocery at really good prices. So, avocado dog food for Ruckus, and avocado for us! Avocados are a nutrient rich superfood that helps both humans and pets absorb the nutrients they need. They're rich in healthy fats and omega-3 and -6 fatty acids.

To avoid the wetness for Ruckus, we've also discovered there are indoor dog parks! You get all the benefits of the exercise, with none of the dirt clump fuss!

Here is Ruckus relaxing on a triangle platform...well...he should be running up and down it, but it was his first time, so he sauntered across it, I would say. Yet, he definitely didn't mind being at the top of the triangle, getting a good view of the other dogs!

Avoderm Natural is made in the USA specifically in California and created using California Avocados and high quality proteins.  You can purchase online through this website: Avoderm.

When Ruckus is hungry, he goes straight to the source. What you see up there are two nice little chickens, ripe for the picking! Just kidding! No chickens were harmed in this taking of this photo. I don't think the chickens even cared that Ruckus was there.

When your dog is out on a trail, his natural instincts kick in millions of years of evolution bring him to one moment...SQUIRREL! That intense feeling of the thrill of the hunt, drives your dog wild and brings out his primal cravings. After you calm him down, then I'm sure his mind is back to the meal you'll feed him when you get back home. Well...there's not squirrel here. Just a friendly chihuahua.

Giving it a go with Avocado-based dog food #AvoDermNatural

I am being compensated for helping spread the word about Avoderm Revolving Menu but ruckustheeskie.com only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. It's been a few weeks since we last talked about Avoderm®, a company that makes pet food with the avocado superfood. Since then, we picked up a bag from the Revolving Menu line and have transitioned Ruckus into trying it out. Ruckus isn't a picky eater, so transitioning him was easy and seeing him as energetic as ever was a positive sign. Ruckus live quite an active lifestyle, and he needs all the calories that he can get!

Avocado superfood for your pup #AvoDermNatural

As dog owners, we were clearly told by our veterinarians what foods are considered safe and unsafe for our dogs. In fact, there are rotating lists on the internet emphasizing healthy snacks and "poisons". Some examples of what we were told were toxic for pets were chocolate, persimmons, and even avocados! When we first heard about a campaign to drive awareness of an revolving menu line of an avocado-based natural pet food, we were completely thrown off!

Cooking for the Whole Family #InspiredbyCrafted

When we cook for ourselves (the humans), we try to balance between healthy foods, taste, cost, and so many other factors. As difficult as it is for humans, there is inherent knowledge that we have cleaned through our parents, families, and human history to determine what we should eat.

For canines, however, there is a lot we don't usually have enough knowledge about their nutrition. We also tend to not have the time to cook specific meals for our pups, relying on kibble or other pre-made foods that we can quickly buy at the store.

A healthy lifestyle for any active and busy pup will require a healthy diet.

Ruckus is hardly a picky eater and will eat all varieties of food placed in front of him. As pet owners, we know that this makes it especially important to monitor the product intake and consumption. In our research, we have recently learned about small batch foods. We've heard of small batch foods when it comes to human foods, but agree with merging the idea with the production of dog food as well. Hill’s® Ideal Balance™ Crafted™ introduces the idea of small-batch style to the pet food level. This process includes high-end healthy human food with newer cooking processes (e.g. oven roasting dog dry kibble to give the extra texture that dogs love). The bonus of these small-batch production is that it will help slow down the process to ensure high quality and consistency.
